Profibus Troubleshooting & Maintenance Training Session Print

The first two PROFIBUS Troubleshooting & Maintenance Training workshops took place in PUNE on 2nd & 3rd November, in Bangalore on 5th & 6th November 2009.

The training at Pune was held in Hotel Le-Meridian – Pune for participants coming from system manufacturers, End users, Maintenance personnel & Designers from various Profibus community users from Automotive, Packaging, Cement industries across the country.

The training at Bangalore was held in Hotel Taj Residency for participants coming from system manufacturers, End users, Maintenance personnel & Designers from various Profibus community users from Automotive, Packaging, Machine builders industries in India.

Bangalore Training

Both events were organized by UL Group based in Pune – India. These workshops were conducted by the instructors from approved Profibus International Training centre PITC - PROCENTEC in Netherlands  - Europe. The Profibus team at UL Group headed by Dileep Miskin managed the events.

In these two no’s of Two - Day-Sessions around 30 engineers in total were trained on how to start to take up the challenges of taking care of the problems in the PROFIBUS networks.

Profibus Troubleshooting & Maintenance Training Print
Probibus Troubleshooting Introduction : This workshop is fully concentrated on those who install and maintain PROFIBUS installations. This
module supplies a complete knowledge package that can be put into practice immediately. The attendee will learn
how to analyze, localize and solve a problem. Theory about cabling, shielding, grounding and measurement tools is
the basis of this knowledge. With the help of practical exercises, the participant will put theory into practice.

At the end of this workshop, the participants are fully capable to maintain, strategically localize, analyze and solve problems in PROFIBUS installations.
The participants will also learn about cabling techniques, shielding, grounding and PROFIBUS components. They will also be able to handle the necessary
measurement tools.

Fedor Meyer Personal profile

Fedor has a degree in Microelectronics and has been involved with the establishment of the PROFIBUS Center.
He is specialized in the physical layer of PROFIBUS and has built up in depth knowledge of a wide range of
PROFIBUS masters and slaves.

He is the manager of the Test Laboratory and the troubleshooting team which is send out when end-users need
immediate assistance with their PROFIBUS applications.

Elmer Vis Personal profile

Elmer has a degree in Microelectronics and is the multi vendor tester of the Test Laboratory. He is also a
fieldwork / troubleshoot consultant and is responsible for creating the hands-on materials for the Certified
PROFIBUS / PROFINET Engineer training courses and the design of the trade fair booths.

Elmer is the instructor of the hands-on parts of the Certified Engineer and Certified Installer training courses.

The first two PROFIBUS Product Developer Training workshops Print
Profibus Centre

The first two PROFIBUS Product Developer Training workshops took place in PUNE, India on 13th and 14th March 2009

One workshop was conducted in the HQ of Honeywell Automation Pune, India for their development engineers & the second one was in Hotel Le Meridian – Pune for various aspiring Profibus developers in India.

Both events were organized by UL Group based in Pune – India. These workshops were held by Peter Fredehorst (Field Application Engineer), Lothar Schroettel (Sales Director) from Profichip GmbH, Germany &  Dileep Miskin – Head Profibus centre from UL Group managed the events.

In these two no’s of One-Day-Sessions around 49 engineers in total were trained how to start a PROFIBUS-Product Development.

Main-Topics have been: Software- and Hardware Structure of a integrated PROFIBUS-Interface, differences between DP-V0, DP-V1 and DP-V2 Profibus Protocols ,  PROFIBUS-ASIC´s from Profichip GmbH, RS485 physical-Interface-Design, PROFIBUS-Tools, etc.

UL Group has been announced to set up the first PROFIBUS Competence Centre in India by PI chairman Mr. Joerg Freitag on the 26th February 2009 in the first kick-off meeting for RPA in Mumbai.

A kick-off meeting took place in April between Joerg Freitag, Chairman of PI and representatives of 14 Indian companies Print
A kick-off meeting took place in April between Joerg Freitag, Chairman of PI and representatives of 14 Indian companies concerning the formation of an Indian Regional PI Association.
Currently, Indian companies interested in PROFIBUS or PROFINET are members of PI South East Asia. Clarification is being sought concerning how an RPA should be registered under Indian law and a draft constitution is being derived from the SEA model. A program of Technical and Marketing Activities for PROFIBUS and PROFINET has begun.
These included a PROFIBUS Developer Workshop in March. A PROFIBUS Certified Engineer/Installer class in June 2009 is planned, and a PROFIBUS/PROFINET Talk / Seminar will be organized.
Other planned activities include participation in the ELECRAMA Fair. A Foundation Meeting is targeted for June/July 2009.
